Spiritual Healing

There is so much to say about healing, and so little time to share it with you. All religions have many rituals, ideas, prescriptions, and wise suggestions about how faith in the Divine can help us heal from anything.

As some of you know me by now, you are completely free to reject everything I am about to say about spiritual healing. What's important has to do with what you believe in, not what I believe in. I strongly feel that all of us are completely capable of experiencing our own personal pathway to healing.

Our book, Reflections: A Journey to God, reveals countless ways my wife Susan and I have healed from different forms of pain, suffering, and incredible challenges. The main theme of our book is that once you make personal and tangible contact with Spirit or Divine Source, your life transforms. Also, according to Susan, "healing becomes inevitable on all levels."

An example of this was the time I got terribly sick from a sinus allergy condition. After going through a miserable time of clogged and draining sinuses for weeks, I couldn't stop coughing. I went to the doctor multiple times, but none of the medication prescribed would clear up my cough.

Like most people, even deeply spiritual people, I turned outside myself with the hope of quick relief. It clicked with me that I was facing the wrong direction. Instead of turning within for healing, I was turning without.

Finally I applied the spiritual principles of healing that I will share with you today. Needless to say, the whole problem quickly cleared up.

More Reflections: A Journey to God

This spiritual blog entry today will hopefully provide you with useful and interesting information about us. Good news!  Reflections: A Journey to God is available now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  Another review of our book is  here at jaamzen.com for you to look over:

Gary and Susan Eby's new spiritual book, Reflections: A Journey to God (click) has now been published! Gary Eby is a retired social worker, mental health counselor and addiction therapist. He writes about self-help and spirituality. Susan studied philosophy in college.  She is enrolled as a ministerial candidate at the Emerson Theological Institute. Gary loves playing the piano, the drums and walking on the beach with his wife, Susan. His motto is "Choose the positive, because it's all good!"

If you are sincerely seeking Truth, Wisdom, and the Path of Purity, if you you are seeking answers as to why you are here, and if you are seeking to know God, our Creator, this book is for you. "Written" by a Sufi Saint whose sole purpose is to bring seekers of God and the Truth back to Him, this book provides clear guidance, and takes us on the journey within the heart, providing the map that will lead us to Him.

The book is definitely a must read, again and again,  hundred times, at least, and with each reading the heart will open and blossom with greater wisdom and understanding. And more will be revealed as the words in it are alive. These are words of Light. Complete joy and satisfaction are experienced.

Reflections: A Journey of God is a Grace that comes directly from the heart of One who knows all Things.

We all seem to be looking for something in our life; something that satisfies a need we have. Gary and I believe that this need will not be found in a new house, or car, or relationship, or even through strict and traditional churches.

Spirituality is important because it takes us back to the source of who we really are... a Child of God, holding within a Divine Spark, which relays to us (through meditation and prayer) what we need to be and how we need to be in this world. We are reflections of God. This is the basis of Spirituality.

Sending you beautiful blessings today from Gary and Susan Eby.

The Dark Secret

Here's some spiritual life help from Reflections: A Journey to God: Why does adopting a positive attitude toward life seem impossible? There is a dark secret that tries to hold us back from all the good we so richly deserve. This essay is another excerpt from our spiritual book, Reflections: Journey to God.

We are born with the innate ability to overcome any human hardship whether it be social, emotional, mental, physical, or financial. But, each journey is a personal journey and not "one size fits all". That's why we encourage you to search in various places to find your spiritual truth, but we also believe the Truth is always found in your heart.

Year after year books are published promising happiness, joy, prosperity, love and health. We may read all of the books, or just a couple, but usually end up dissatisfied. The book we choose may be too esoteric; too fast on giving us a quick fix; too hard to follow; too far from what we're experiencing in our own life, or just too mysterious to understand. How do we get to the core of our issues? Here is what we believe is the essence of healing and understanding our Divine Self:

A heart, mind, or body that holds onto a negative event (even held from many years past) unless changed, will continue to rule your life and true, permanent healing will not be forthcoming.

In this piece I will show you how to stop the negative so you can truly gather the positive. (please click the link below to continue with this spiritual essay.)

Reflections on The Shack

Our spiritual blog today will encourage a discussion about a remarkable and inspiring book.  Hope you will leave comments.

The Shack by Wm Paul Young, has sold more than 19 million copies, and now you can see the movie. Why is this story about a spiritual journey so appealing?

As some of you know, The Shack is a fictionalized account of a middle-aged man (Mack) who is filled with hurt, suffering, and trauma. He then has a mind-blowing encounter with unspeakable, horrifying evil. He finds a spiritual path to healing at the scene of a run-down shack in the wilderness of Oregon, where his young daughter, Missy was taken and murdered by a serial killer.

On another level, this book might be a metaphor about all the prior history of emotional pain, suffering, rejections, depressions, abuse, and failures many of us hold on to in our own private or internal shack. The author gives us a hopeful message: no matter what painful wounds that can scar our heart, we can heal through the power of Divine Revelation. Maybe that is the key and main attraction of this story for countless fans and readers all over the world.

I am curious to find out what helps you heal or overcome some of the traumatic experiences that this life apparently presents to all of us. For me, I agree with many of the spiritual ideas presented in The Shack. Let me review some of them briefly:

#1. Mack received a written invitation from God (called Papa in the book) to meet-up at the shack. I believe the Divine does talk to us, if we listen to the "small, still voice" within us. It's been said, however, that "many are called but few answer". What holds us back?

Reflections on Spiritual Life Coaching.

Our spiritual blog for today will discuss spiritual coaching. I believe there are many positive solutions to all of life's challenges. The question is how do we change our lives?

Remember, you are completely free to reject any of these ideas. What's really important has to do with what you believe, with what lifts you up, and provides you with inspiration to have a better life today.

As a retired social worker with forty years of professional experience, I’ve learned a few ways to help others engage in positive life changes. I realize personal and social change is difficult. Too many of us avoid our problems or refuse to ask for help to resolve them.

It’s as if there is a battle going on inside of us between our positive side and negative side. For example, the positive voice within can calmly affirm, “You can make healthier choices; follow your bliss.” Then for some inexplicable and mysterious reason, negative self-talk takes over with, “You’re going to fail again; life sucks; you don’t need anybody’s help.”

Can you relate to this struggle? Frankly, I don't have all the answers. However, let me share with you some of the things I do when I’m feeling stuck or out of balance. I also understand that what works for me may not work for you. I do believe that in your mind and heart, there is a strong intuitive awareness of the power of making more positive choices. Whatever is going on, don’t give up. Feel free to reach out for help. You can even talk to me about it.

In some of my prior articles, I have mentioned the process of Stop and Think. Try it and see if it helps you:

1. Take several deep breaths. Let the air out slowly.
2. Say a positive thought over and over like, “I deserve to have a better life today.”
3. Hold to a positive image. Take a mental time out; picture going to the beach, an open field, a forest, an ocean, lake or stream. There are many places you can go to find a positive image.
4. After you feel yourself calmed, reach out and communicate with a positive person.
